Beyond Lessons

Trips Brochure 2007 Trips Brochure 2007

The curriculum at DCPS is not solely delivered in the classroom, but enhanced from the Nursery onwards by visits, day trips and, in the Upper School, residential visits. The Nursery, Annexe and Lower School enjoy farms, theatres, local historical tours, museums, art galleries and waxworks to name but a few.

Boys in the Upper School benefit from day trips too, for example when the History and Geography departments combine to visit coastal sites in East Sussex, and re-enact the Battle of Hastings.

Each year from Years 5 to 8 includes a residential trip.

Year 5 boys stay at a centre in Norfolk, Year 6 investigate the great historical heritage of York, Year 7 learn to work together and the value of teamwork at a centre in Buckinghamshire and Year 8 enjoy outdoor pursuits in Snowdonia.
