Facilities

We are proud to be able to say that all pupils enjoy excellent facilities - from the purpose built Nursery for the youngest children to the extensive building developments of the last few years for the Upper School boys.
It is in fact true to say that children throughout the school benefit from specialist facilities. Starting with the Nursery - set in its own 7 acre site of fields and woodland - and on through the Annexe, Lower School and Upper School our pupils use buildings specifically designed for the age group taught within. Even the Victorian houses which form the core of the school have been internally rebuilt to modern standards.

We design classrooms to be larger than average. Specialist ICT suites, based in the Upper School and Lower School, serve the three sections at the Alleyn Park site. A purpose built Music School provides a superb setting for nearly 600 music lessons taking place each week and specialist science labs were created in 1996 and 2004. Each section of the school has its own library, with the Upper School library - built in 1999 - being equipped with PCs and internet access. The Upper School Art suite rivals many senior schools (and the standard of work by boys has been compared with art school undergraduates). Our excellent DT lab was created in 2001 and we keep abreast of Modern Technologies with the use of PCs and interactive whiteboards as teaching aids in the classroom.
Our sports and external facilities are no less impressive. Unusually for a school located in an urban setting, we not only have our own indoor swimming pool but also some 25 acres of playing fields providing athletics facilities, football, rugby and enviable cricket pitches. As highlighted elsewhere on this website, this helps a huge number of our boys to be involved in sports to their own level.
