Music at DCPSMusic at DCPSOur purpose-built music school includes thirteen teaching and practice rooms, two classrooms and a concert hall which can seat over three hundred. Children in every part of the school enjoy the impact of music specialists and over their time at the prep many develop into musicians of high calibre. Some idea of the prominence of music may be gained by the fact that nearly 600 lessons are taught per week. We hold at least one public concert a year, either locally or in London, as well as numerous events in the school.

Music at DCPSWith two orchestras, two concert bands, two jazz bands, three choirs, and several other ensemble and chamber groups, it's easy to see the importance music has in our school life. Indeed, on average between seven and ten boys gain music scholarships every year.

Beyond the curriculum, choirs featuring boys from as young as year four join with the DCPS (adult) choral society for a major public performance each year. Every two years a musical tour - based in Strasbourg and featuring public performances in France and Germany - takes place.
