DCPS HATS FOR HAITI DAY

On an initiative from Thomas McNeil of Year 8, DCPS held a ‘wear a hat for Haiti day’ in support of Oxfam’s aid effort for Haiti. Every boy and member of staff throughout the school wore a hat. There were hundreds altogether with many trilbies, hard hats, sombreros, bowlers, top hats, wacky hats, beanies, panamas, Stetsons, ladies’ hats, feather hats and many more. The array of colours and styles certainly brought awareness to the day’s serious aim.

Many boys, families and staff made generous donations and at present the total raised stands at well over £2000. There is still some money to come in and if you missed the chance to donate, Thomas’s collection box will remain in the main school office until Wednesday 3rd February.
