New Menu

Chartwells, the School’s caterers for the past 12 years, currently feed over 570 boys and over 100 staff in the Old Hall every day during the term. So in January the School asked the boys for their opinion of the food served at lunchtime. We canvassed the views of one class in each year group from Year 3 to Year 8, obtaining responses from 116 boys. In general the boys become more critical as they move up the School, but overall 72% of the boys rate the food, menu content and taste “Good” or better. There is an emphasis on providing healthy, nourishing food and many of the boys commented on the choice available. Every day there are at least three hot dishes, including a vegetarian option, and a wide range of cold meats and salads as well as jacket potatoes, followed by a choice of puddings. This term we have introduced home-made bread and Chartwells have been set the challenge of producing a different flavour every day of the term.
