Geography

The purpose of Geography in the Annexe is to help children make sense of the world around them. Geography stimulates curiosity and imagination and the aim is to build upon the child's "personal geography", through teaching children about people, places and themes.

The immediate environment is studied as well as Britain and one foreign country each year. Simple mapping skills and an awareness of geographical features are taught.

Year 1 study: Our Environment, food and farming and an EU country. There are two Geography based trips in Year 1 including a walk around the local area and a visit to Bocketts Farm.

Year 2 study:   Holidays, weather and landscapes, explorers and a non EU country.
