Personal, Social, Health and Citizenship Education at DCPS follows The Nurturing Programme as part of the curriculum. Time is set aside every week for each class to follow a carefully devised course. This is known as Circle Time during which a variety of issues are explored through discussion, different activities and games. The Golden Rules are special areas which will be revisited regularly during these periods. We aim to use praise and encouragement, often by the awarding of both class and individual dots and stickers, to foster confidence and raise self-esteem, to promote good behaviour, to develop listening, communication and social skills and to empower children to make responsible choices and decisions both in learning and play situations. Success in following The Golden Rules each week will be rewarded by a session of Golden Time.
