The Lower School - Years 3 and 4

The Lower School is a happy, busy, stimulating environment where each and every boy is valued, cared-for and nurtured. Each day our aim is to develop boys' strengths and abilities and promote a love of learning.

Our boys are curious, excited by the learning process, and typically very keen to take full advantage of the extremely wide range of opportunities available to them at DCPS.

We are fortunate to have a school structure which allows our boys not only to be part of a large, vibrant community, but also, through its four distinct Sections, to benefit from the ideal conditions which exist, for all boys to be taught and cared for in the most age-appropriate environment and manner at each stage of their DCPS school career.

Boys of this age need to feel safe; they need to be happy and comfortable and they need to be inspired and excited by the learning process. We understand the importance of securing the basics at this key time, along with developing the boys' interests and maximizing their strengths.

We have a lot of fun in The Lower School. Life here is busy and purposeful and incorporates much laughter during the course of every day. The atmosphere buzzes with an immensely rich curriculum where learning is valued as a precious commodity.

We realize that this is a magical age at which teachers have almost limitless opportunities to establish exemplary lifelong attitudes to learning.

Within the Lower School and throughout all sections of the school, each boy is encouraged to become the very best version of himself. As teachers, it is our delight to support, encourage and direct them in that process.
