The Nursery Curriculum

The curriculum is planned across the Areas of Learning and Experience and is based on the children’s interests and learning needs, encompassing the learning outcomes identified by the DfES and supporting children in achieving as much as they can.

The main Areas of Learning and Experience, in which we provide many opportunities for your child to develop, are:

Each Area is comprised of the following elements:
 
Knowledge:
facts, information, ideas and concepts
Understanding:
demonstrated by the ability to classify, organise, and apply knowledge, and by the ability to predict
Skills:
the capacity or competency to perform a task or activity
Attitudes:
expressions of values and personal qualities which determine behaviour in a variety of situations
