Sport at DCPSSport at DCPSSports are an important part of life at the Prep. We aim to strike a balance between 'sport-for-all' and 'sport-for-excellence', encouraging all boys to develop an interest in all aspects of sport. The programme delivers a wide range of educational experience. Individual skills are taught and used to develop coordination, flexibility, strength and stamina. Teamwork and tactics are developed and used to encourage responsibility. Competing also forms an important part of the learning process and all boys are involved in the Tribe competitions.

Sport at DCPSSport at DCPSThe activities taught within the curriculum range from rugby, soccer, cricket, athletics and swimming through hockey, basketball, short-tennis and badminton to gymnastics, cross-country and health-related fitness. In addition to extra-curricular clubs in all of the areas mentioned above, we also run judo, golf, squash, table tennis, fencing, volleyball, tennis and karate.

Sport at DCPSSport at DCPSFixtures are arranged against other schools, at A, B, C, D and occasionally E team levels, and those boys involved may be required for matches or extra practices on some Saturdays. Parents and friends are always welcome on the touchline at our matches.

Boys also receive one period of swimming each week in our own 25 metre pool. The standard is very high with very few boys unable to swim competently by the time they reach Year 3.

In conclusion, we provide boys with an enjoyable introduction to a wide range of sports and develop the habit of regular sporting activity that can be carried into later life.
